These BBQ Hawaiian Hot Dogs are topped with juicy pineapple salsa and a drizzle of creamy sriracha mayo, while our Kansas City BBQ Rub adds just the right amount of smoky sweet flavor. A fun twist on the classic hot dog that’s made for backyard cookouts.

Hawaiian BBQ Dogs

Ingredients

  • SRIRACHA MAYO

  • ⅓ cup mayo

  • 2 tablespoons sriracha

  • PINEAPPLE SALSA

  • 1 cup finely diced pinapple

  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion

  • ¼ cup finely diced red bell pepper

  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

  • ½ lime, juiced

  • ½ teaspoon Chile Lime Finishing Salt

  • HOT DOGS

  • 6 hot dogs

  • Kansas City BBQ Rub

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 6 Kings Hawaiian hot dog rolls or brioche hot dog rolls

Directions

  1. Mix together ingredients for sriracha mayo. Set aside until serving.

  2. Mix together ingredients for pineapple salsa. Set aside until serving.

  3. Slice hot dogs in have lengthwise, but not cut all the way through. Similar to butterflying a chicken breast. Press hot dogs flat and season cut side generously with Kansas City BBQ Rub.

  4. Heat a skillet or flat top over medium to high heat. Melt butter in pan. Place hot dogs cut side down and cook until slightly charred about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for 1-2 minutes longer.

  5. Toast/grill buns if desired.

  6. Serve hot dogs in buns, topped with prepared pineapple salsa and sriracha mayo.
